Dr Corey Moran

Dr Corey Moran has nine years postgraduate research experience in the field of vascular biology, with scientific training to date geared to develop a solid research foundation in artery disease. Dr Moran was awarded his PhD from James Cook University (JCU) in 2005 upon completion of a research project investigating the role of Osteoprotegerin (OPG) in the development of abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA). In 2006, he commenced a postdoctoral appointment within the Vascular Biology Unit at JCU after winning the National Heart Foundation of Australia’s John Shaw Postdoctoral Fellowship as the highest ranked applicant. Dr Moran is currently a postdoctoral research Fellow within the QRC-PVD after being awarded the prestigious Queensland Government Smart Futures Fellowship in 2010. The primary focus of Dr Moran’s research is to further understanding of AAA pathogenesis and progression, with the aim of contributing to the development of drug-based treatment for the disease.
