Dr Joseph Moxon

Dr Moxon received his PhD from the University of Wales Aberystwyth (UK) in 2008 after completing a research program which utilised proteomics and bioinformatics to identify molecular markers for parasite infection. After graduation he joined the JCU Vascular Biology Unit as a junior post-doctoral scientist, to conduct proteomic and bioinformatic research in peripheral artery disease (PAD). In 2011 he was promoted to his current position of Senior Scientist, and leads a team of scientists who conduct a range of genomic, proteomic and lipidomic studies to improve the understanding of PAD. Dr Moxon has a special research focus on identifying novel drug or diagnostic targets for PAD, with a specific emphasis on translating findings from the laboratory to the patient.
