The Queensland University of Technology (QUT) – Royal Brisbane and Womens’ Hospital (RBWH) Vascular Rehabilitation Training Clinic

The QUT –RBWH Vascular Rehabilitation Teaching Clinic will, in January 2012, introduce two new initiatives for patients with peripheral arterial disease. A hospital based exercise and vascular health clinic will be conducted by an accredited exercise physiologist within the vascular outpatients clinic at the RBWH. Patients referred to the clinic by their vascular surgeon will be prescribed an exercise and physical activity plan and may also be referred to the supervised student led vascular rehabilitation program.

This second arm of the program will be conducted at the QUT Health clinics. Patients will attend the program up to three times a week for up to twelve weeks. Program sessions will be delivered by final year clinical exercise physiology students under the supervision of an accredited exercise physiologist.
